New construction of 330 kV OHL Zakhidnoukrainska-Bohorodchany with reconstruction of 330 kV SS Bohorodchany and 750 kV SS Zakhidnoukrainska, Lviv and Ivano-Frankivsk regions

Works on the project “Construction of 330 kV OHL Zakhidnoukrainska-Bohorodchany with reconstruction of 330 kV SS Bohorodchany and 750 kV SS Zakhidnoukrainska, Lviv and Ivano-Frankivsk regions” have been started.

The new 330 kV Zakhidnoukrainska-Bohorodchany overhead line (OHL) will run within the territory of Zhydachiv district in Lviv region and Rohatyn and Halytskyi districts in Ivano-Frankivsk region.

Primary objective of construction and reconstruction of the power transmission line is to enhance failure-free and reliable operation of the grid and ensure uninterrupted power supply to large consumers in the western region.

Construction and reconstruction of 330 kV OHL Zakhidnoukrainska-Bohorodchany will improve operation of Dnistrovska HPSPP in the pumping mode and significantly improve reliability of power supply to consumers in Ivano-Frankivsk region.

The project envisages construction in two stages:

Stage I includes construction of a new section of 330 kV OHL Zakhidnoukrainska-Bohorodchany with a length of 43.19 km from 750 kV SS Zakhidnoukrainska to the existing tower No. 18 located around Burshtynska TPP and reconstruction of the existing section of 330 kV OHL Zakhidnoukrainska-Bohorodchany with a length of 60.54 km from tower No. 18 to 330 kV SS Bohorodchany.

Stage II envisages modernization of 750 kV Zakhidnoukrainska and 330 kV SS Bohorodchany to enable connection of the 330 kV Zakhidnoukrainska-Bohorodchany overhead line.
